Jedburgh Medical Practice

Practice Newsletters

PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT FROM 31 MARCH 2024 WE WILL NO LONGER BE ABLE TO ACCEPT

PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS VIA TELEPHONE!

Jedburgh Medical Practice currently provides medical care to around 7000 patients which means our GP partners are currently caring for over 2300 patients each.

Summer of 2024 sees further changes to the clinicians within Jedburgh Medical Practice, with our new Advanced Nurse Practitioner Rory MacPherson joining the team.  Rory has moved to us from BECS at the Borders General Hospital and is a welcomed addition to the team.  Rory joins our current ANP's Emma and Lynne and will be working Monday-Friday 830am-430pm

Sadly at the end of August 2024 Dr Mitchell will be retiring from the Practice after an incredible 31 years of service, we are all sad to see him go however we wish him a very happy retirement.  Dr Galliano will be joining us as a Partner in September, he will take over Dr Mitchells patients and will be working Monday, Wednesday and Friday.  Dr Galliano has been with us for a year now as part of the GP Fellowship scheme and therefore some of you will already know him.  We are delighted to welcome Dr Galliano as a Partner at Jedburgh.

Rest assured all our clinicians are highly trained within their area of expertise, our patient advisors are trained to be able to direct you to the most appropriate clinician for your needs.  Therefore when they ask you some questions when you call, this is only to allow them to direct you to the best clinician for you, remember this is not always necessarily a GP.

Patient Information

Blood test results and prescription requests are not available via telephone until after 1pm.

If you call before this time then unfortunately we will not be able to help you.

Remember blood tests take 4 days after appointment for results to be available and you need to allow 72 hours for repeat prescription requests.

Thanks for your co-operation.

Zero Tolerance - Staff Abuse

Did you know over three quarter of GP Practice Staff face verbal abuse from patients each year.

Our staff work hard to provide you with the best possible service.

Please treat them with the courtesy and respect they deserve.

We operate a zero-tolerance policy and may refuse to provide services to indiviudals or those accompanying individuals who are violent, threaten violence, commit or threaten to commit a criminal offence either in person or over the phone.
